The beginning of a new academic year is always a time for new projects, ambitious goals, and exciting new beginnings. This September marks an important milestone for St. Petersburg University of Management Technologies and Economics: international students from our partner universities are arriving at UMTE to study as part of academic mobility programs.
Around 15 students from five countries — Indonesia, China, Thailand, Belarus, and Kazakhstan — have joined the University. They represent the University of Lampung, Yanbian University, Walailak University, Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno, Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and Belarus State Economic University.
An engaging program has already begun for the incoming students. They are getting acquainted with the University campus, exploring their study programs, and selecting the courses they will take during the semester. Particular attention is paid to their adaptation: the students are actively communicating with their Russian classmates, taking part in guided tours around the city, and learning more about the history of our city.
“We are delighted to welcome students from different countries to our University. Academic mobility is not only about exchanging knowledge; it is also an opportunity to build friendships, broaden one’s horizons, and create a truly international community,” the UMTE International Cooperation Department noted.
We are confident that the time they spend at our University will become a memorable and rewarding stage in both their professional and personal development.
We wish our new students a successful start, exciting discoveries, and unforgettable impressions of Russia’s Northern Capital!
